Edinburgh Evening News Story
Wednesday, 26 August 2009 23:23
Edinburgh based newspaper, Edinburgh Evening News, published a charming article about the (yet to be oficially confirmed) news that "Over The Threshold" would be transferring to London's West End once it finishes it's run at the festival!

"Musical to hit London
A FRINGE musical conceived in a Mexican internet cafe, performed in a Portakabin off George Square and starring a young actor from Stenhousemuir is to transfer to London's West End.

Over the Threshold, which was devised by writer/composer Christopher Hamilton, ends its Edinburgh run at the Musical Theatre on George Square on Monday. Less than a month later it will open at London's Jermyn Street Theatre. The London transfer could mean big career breaks for the four Falkirk actors in the cast: Madalena Alberto, Helen French, Trevor Jary and Kieran Brown, pictured, all from Falkirk.

Brown, 30, who plays Tom, an out-of-work actor, said: "I'm proud to be part of Over the Threshold and thrilled that we're moving to London. I love doing new musical theatre. It's important to support new writing and I also love the challenge of creating a new part from get-go."

Hamilton began writing Over the Threshold in 2003. The 75-minute long musical tells the story of four characters whose lives are turned upside down in one fateful evening through a combination of drink, infidelity and misunderstanding."

One correction in the article however - Kieran is the only cast member to come from Falkirk!
