Better Late Than Never! Last Edinburgh Review...

Leading industry newspaper and website "The Stage", finally published their glowing review of the Edinburgh production of "Over The Threshold", 2 weeks after it closed, but just in time for the London run which starts THIS WEEK at the Jermyn Street Theatre...

"Jomo Productions’ Over the Threshold is a light, domestic comedy musical sung excellently by its four leads. It is set over one night in a house in London as two couples flirt, dally with infidelity, learn about themselves and become reconciled.

Ranging from powerfully belted out solos to some sophisticated group numbers, the show’s tunes are catchy and musically original at times. As the story unfolds and the couples from different floors on the same building decide whether to sleep with each other, the gentle pace quickens and the songs have a sometimes quirkier, sometimes more reflective dimension.

No one of the performers is a weak link and each has charm and charisma enough to carry off the rather weak plot. The script, though, is snappy and realistic, and Over the Threshold does manage to capture something of middle class angst and relationships without becoming too much like a sung soap opera.

Overall, this is a classy piece of work delivered by a gifted cast."
