One of Austria's most widely read newspapers, Vienna based Wiener Zeitung, this week published a fantastic 4 * review of "The Woman In Black", which Kieran is appearing in at the International Theatre Vienna. The review is in German, and translates as follows - "It's been said that the Brits loved ghost stories, therefore chances of Susan Hill's novel "The Woman In Black" being a success weren't too bad. That this novel should become a permanent fixture on the London West End stage still wasn't foreseeable - to write a thriller is one thing, to bring it to the stage is another. The International Theatre Vienna is a prime example of what you can do with limited funds. The thriller is played out by two actors. Therefore it doesn't require much to make a performance, just one thing; convincing actors - and that's what they are, 100%. Jack Babb plays, with his soft yet assertive voice, the notary, Kipps, who becomes embroiled in this murderous mystery in a small English village, having been sent there for work. He's accompanied by young Scottish actor Kieran Brown, who assists Kipps in telling his story. This is all supplemented with little decor here and there, and sound effects. The rest is left to our imaginations. No screetchy Violins, no complicated visual projections of dark swamplands - just pure shivers..."
